Market Update 5.05.2021
Did you know? Every year the 3rd Friday of the month of May is designated Endangered Species Day. In 1973, the United States passed The Endangered Species Act to provide for the conservation of endangered and threatened species for fish, wildlife, plants and for other purposes. And after reading this week's Orange County Housing Report we learn that an entire section of housing may need to be added to this list! I, of course, do not mean to make light of either situation. Protecting our endangered species is incredibly important and I hope that you will take time, if even just for the day on May 21, to think about ways that you can help.
The current active listing inventory has been dropping and most noticeably in the $750,000 and below range and I encourage you to read up on the latest statistics from Steven Thomas in the link. With this range "on the endangered list" now more than ever is the time to stay focused and keep your eye open for your dream home. Make sure that you have your financing in place and have a good understanding of your wants and needs for your next home.
We are very aggressively monitoring the market to alert our buyers of properties coming soon and to get fair market value for our sellers. The key to navigating the market now is to not give up and know that working with an experienced team supporting you is important.
Thinking of getting involved in a transaction? Contact us to discuss - we'll help you strategize how to take advantage of the current market conditions with marketing, refer you to a lender to qualify you if necessary or negotiate the perfect purchase or sale for you.
With all that is going on, we are very thankful for the opportunity to assist you with your real estate needs and look forward to hearing from you again soon. And on May 21st I hope you will consider ways to help animals and plants on the endangered species list and maybe by then our housing inventory will be off the list too!
